“It’s like acting when you act you have to leave your problems on a hanger, leave it there, go into the room be this person act and deal with your problems and the ice rink is the same.”

The star added that the moment she started worrying about other things her ability to skate well was also affected.

Ekin-Su expressed: “That was quite hard for me but I’m great now you know.”

Talking about whether she wants to win Dancing on Ice, like she did Love Island she said: “I went in to Love Island not to win, I went in to find love.

“I didn’t think I was going to stay that long and I had the mindset of knowing what I wanted and that was with a guy and when I won I was shocked.

“So I’m having the same mentality in this programme where I’m gonna have fun, I’m gonna have fun with everyone around me, use it take it all in and whatever happens I’m grateful.”

This week Ekin-Su hit headlines after she revealed she had the flu.

Jumping onto Twitter, she wrote: “Had this flu for a month now! Not what you need for the live show Sunday! Need to rest.”
