Grime star Dizzee Rascal has lost his appeal against the conviction for assaulting ex-fiancée.
The 38-year-old British rapper, real name Dylan Kwabena Mills, was found guilty at a trial in April 2022 of assaulting Cassandra Jones.
He assaulted his ex-partner by pressing his forehead against hers before pushing her to the floor during a “chaotic” row within her London home in June 2021.

The Bonkers rapper appeared at Inner London Crown Court on Friday, January 27 and silently watched on as his appeal against his conviction and sentence was rejected.
District judge Vanessa Baraitser said that the panel were “satisfied” that the case had been made out “in the way that had been alleged by the Crown” and that the rapper had “used his forehead to push Ms Jones around” the room.
During his trial it was said that the grime star, Dylan, had “barged” into the home of his ex.
He is said to have banged his head on a fridge three times while holding the son he shares with Cassandra.
Dylan then began “shouting” at his ex-partner and her mother Dawn Kirk, who was described as a “compelling” witness by the judge.
During the trial, Dylan’s ex-fiancée recalled how she “stumbled to the ground” after he “pushed his forehead” into hers.
She added: “He reached his red mist where he just doesn’t care.”
But giving evidence on Friday (January 27), the grime MC denied the claims that he was angry.
He explained how he had a “good day” with his family hours before, and arrived at his ex’s house where she was “hostile” towards him.
Although not in a bad mood, he admitted that he found it “annoying” that his ex – who is the mother of his two children – had persistently contacted him about why he was late.
He went on to recall how voices were raised with both parties shouting at one another.
Claiming that she hit him with a mobile telephone, he said: “She was hitting out at me. She hit me a few times and she scratched me. She hit me with the phone.”
Asked if he did anything to physically assault Cassie, he replied: “I didn’t.”
At one point during the row that night, Dylan took the mobiles belonging to his ex and her mother away from them.
Prosecutor Helena Duong suggested that the “real reason” behind this was because he wanted to thwart any attempts by them to call the police for help.
“No, I took it because she was already hitting me,” he replied.
The court had previously heard that Cassandra had claimed that Dylan had reduced her “allowance” from £2,000 to £1,800 when she was “badly behaved”.
Although she denied the alleged attack was about money.
On Friday during his appeal, the rapper said he always provided financially for his ex and his children, and didn’t use his wealth as a way to control her.
“I think that’s not fair,” he told the court, adding: “I do not understand. I paid all the bills and when she got anything for the kids she would invoice me.”
In April 2022, the rapper, who holds an MBE, was given a community order.
His community order included a 24-week curfew and 12-month restraining order banning him from contacting his former partner.
He was also ordered to pay £2,190 in costs and a £95 surcharge.
These penalties have not been changed and the restraining order is due to expire in April.
Dylan was also ordered to pay £620 costs for the appeal.
