Eamonn Holmes shares health update as fans rush to support presenter after horror fall

TV icon Eamonn Holmes has been sent messages of support as he shared an update on his road to recovery.

The 63-year-old, who used to present ITV’s This Morning alongside wife Ruth Langsford, slipped three discs in his back in 2021 which left him reliant on a walking stick for mobility.

To add insult to injury, the TV star then fell down 18 steps at his home in Weybridge causing him to injure his back and shoulder even further.

Speaking to his followers on Instagram, Eamonn posted a snap of himself being put though his paces at his physio appointment as he wrote: “Just hanging around tonight trying to put my legs right. Stretch Armstrong.”

Laughing alongside the TV star, fans rushed into the comments to praise the Irish presenter for persevering with his recovery.

A cheeky fan joked: “Hang on in there (pun intended), your determination will surely pay off. x”

One fan wrote: “Keep doing this Eamonn! It will all pay off. Don’t give up. It will be worth it in the end…”

Another added: “You’re an inspiration. Keep going and by the way I think you look fabulous x”.

Another penned: “Keep going Eamonn I feel your pain, believe me it’s hard and unless you have been in pain no-one understands you are doing so well and should be proud of yourself xx”.

The GB News presenter, who has recently returned to his breakfast show with Isabel Webster, first began experiencing back pain in spring 2021 which “came out of nowhere”.

After being examined by doctors, the star was found to have three slipped discs that were impacting movement of his right leg and causing “agonising” pain.

Things took a turn for the worst when in May 2022 he then fell down the stairs at home with his spinal issued also causing complications for his bladder and bowel.

Eamonn has remained open and honest with fans and delivered regular health updates including glimpses of his ongoing physiotherapy sessions as he continues to recover.
