Tensions have been rising on Albert Square this week following the arrival of EastEnders newcomer Emma Harding, who has certainly caused a stir in the Mitchells family.
On Monday (February 6) the blonde bombshell (played by Patsy Kensit) made her grand entrance to Walford as she waltzed her way back into Lola Pearce’s life (Danielle Harold) as her terminal condition worsens.
And she certainly started with a bang as the newcomer revealed she was Lola’s long-lost mum as she revealed a dark secret from Lola’s past.

In an emotional reconnection, the newlywed – who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour – learnt that her mother was abused by her father Jamie Mitchell who left her hospitalised for months after one harrowing incident.
As the pair attempt to make up for lost time, fans have shared their suspicions that something more sinister is going on behind the scenes after Emma was introduced to her granddaughter Lexi for the first time.
With viewers glued to their screens for the latest instalment of the BBC One soap, Daily Star has taken a deep dive inside the biggest theories surrounding the new resident.
Kidnapping
One of the most popular theories surrounding the popular Londoner is that Emma is planning to kidnap Lexi in order to protect her from the abuse she faced within the Mithell family years ago.
With Lola growing weaker from her devastating brain tumour, viewers have spotted the adoring grandmother whispering in the little one’s ears behind Lola’s back.
But theories really exploded after Emma showed her dark side when she snapped at Billy after he attempted to take the tot to school without informing her.
After watching the tense scenes unfold on screen, fans flooded to Twitter to share their fears that Lola could be in grave danger.
One user penned: “Just watched a scene from tonight’s episode. Ok, I think Emma is definitely going to kidnap Lexi at some point.
“That scene where Emma hugged Lexi at some point. That scene where Emma hugged Lexi then started whispering in her ear – that was very suspicious #EastEnders.”
Another agreed: “Emma already manipulating Lexi. Bunny boiler I tell you #EastEnders” as a third echoed: “Emma is defo gonna kidnap Lexi to get her away from the Mitchells #eastenders.”
Meanwhile, another asked: “So do we all think Emma’s definitely kidnapping Lexi out of grief when Lola dies? #EastEnders.”
Custody battle
However, some fans believe the estranged mother will stick around on the Square after Lola’s death but will fight tooth and nail to get custody of the youngster after her death.
It appears as though the loving grandmother is determined to protect Lexi from the East End gangster dynasty as she continues to build a bond with the tot away from prying eyes.
Convinced they could be saying goodbye to little Lexi, fans took to Twitter to share their predictions online.
One user penned: “I can see Emma being involved in Lexi’s custody battle alongside Ben, Billy and Jay. Bare in mind as well Billy has applied for custody of Lexi before.
“I think Emma will either kidnap Lexi or apply for custody herself. I think Emma was abused – but everything else is shady. The way she spoke to Billy tonight shows she has a dark side.”
Another added: “Emma is a snake and I can see a custody battle for Lexi in the future when Lola is gone. #EastEnders.”
A third queried: “”Emma wanting to get to know Lexi, why do I have a feeling she’s gonna try and get custody after Lola dies….? #EastEnders.”
Meanwhile, a fourth user insisted: “I smell a custody battle between Emma, Ben and Jay over Lexi after Lola dies #EastEnders.”
Murder
As tensions continue to grow between Emma and the Mitchells, viewers believe doting dad Ben Mitchell may take matters into his own hands if Emma attempts to take Lexi away from the Square.
This won’t be the first time that viewers that Ben has shown his murderous side, but the star took his first life back in 2012 after he killed resident Heather Trott.
During a heated argument, the long-running character – who was played by Joshua Pascoe at the time – confronted Heather when he became convinced that she had reported him to the police.

In a nail-biting row, Ben hit the loving local over the head with a picture frame which caused her to fall and hit her head on the kitchen counter where she bled to death.
Now, viewers believe he could snap again af fans of the hugely popular soap took to Twitter to share their wild theories online.
One user predicted: “Ben is gonna end up killing Emma (Patsy Kensit) isn’t he? [three shocked emojis] #eastenders.”
Another agreed: “What if Ben murders Emma to get her away from Lexi #eastenders?????”
