Peter Beale is the child of Cindy and Ian Beale and the twin of Lucy Beale.
Peter decided to leave Albert Square after being betrayed by Kathy and realising he had no future where he grew up.
His decision to leave came after Kathy lied to the police to get Ben freed from custody for Peter’s assault.
Ben went straight back and took revenge on his nephew and attacked him with a meat tenderiser, shoved Peter’s head into a bowl of water and left him utterly terrified.
EastEnders fans were left screaming at their TV screens as Cindy Beale made her highly anticipated return to the soap last night (June 22)
The character’s return had been teased for some time with many predicting she was the mystery identity of George Knight’s wife, Rose, who disappeared without explanation ten years ago.
Ian was seen begging Cindy to return to Walford after learning that her witness protection had ended following the death of an inmate she grassed up years ago.
Cindy defiantly refused to go, with the stress causing Ian to have a heart attack.
As he lay in his hospital bed he came across a video on social media of Freddie and Bobby in the Queen Vic and saw that Cindy’s ex, George, and her two daughters Gina and Anna were now running the pub.
Worried that Cindy would fall back into the arms of her ex, he hid the video from her and tried to convince her that it wans’t the best idea to return.
“Even when half dead, Ian is still being a selfish t**t. Same old Ian. Glad they’re back though,” said a fan.
“Now Cindy wants to return to the square and Ian backtrack to stay put (yeah, because of the Knights),” penned another.
