EastEnders viewers are calling for the return of a fan-favourite character after a surprise mention in the latest episode (March 23).
Yolande Trueman, played by Angela Wynter, was referenced by her ex-husband Patrick Trueman, leading fans to demand her comeback or face the consequences of a potential “riot.”
As Patrick headed out to bet on some horses, he was seen pulling a picture of her from under his hat and kissing it.

Fans are now adamant that she return.
“If this Yolande stuff doesn’t end in a return for her we need to riot # EastEnders,” said one determined viewer.
Another echoed: “Yolande best be returning after all her mentions this week and #EastEnders best not be playing with me,” while a third said: “If we dont see yolande back in eastenders in the next few weeks there will be hell to pay mark my words.”
Viewers recently saw the Brannings and the Foxes hold a family game night which took a turn for the worse when Chelsea Fox arrived with Ravi Gulati.
Both Jack Branning and Denise Fox were shocked, as they both have secrets involving Ravi.
Despite Denise’s efforts to warn her daughter about Ravi, Chelsea refused to listen, leading Denise to lie about Ravi’s past behaviour to put her off him.
In the end, Patrick managed to convince Chelsea to ignore the gossip and move on from the drama.
After his words of wisdom, Patrick pulled out a picture of his ex-wife Yolande from his hat and looked lovingly at the image. He also was seen kissing her picture as headed out to get lucky on horse bet.
Angela Wynter revealed the heartwarming inspiration behind her iconic EastEnders character Yolande Trueman.
The actress, who recently joined the cast of Doctors, played the bubbly and positive B&B owner and former wife of Minute Mart owner Patrick Trueman between 2003 and 2008.
However, it turns out that Yolande was actually based on Angela’s real-life sister Merlene, who passed away.
In a touching tribute to her late sibling, Angela revealed that Yolande’s character outline was inspired by Merlene. “Yolande was based on my own late sister,” Angela explained.
“She was bubbly and positive, and she won Patrick over with her charm and her toughness. She was vulnerable, but she was principled. “I wanted to honour my sister in some way.”
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on 7.30pm
