Emmerdale fans are convinced Scott Windsor is heading back to the village.
The popular character has been seen on screen since 16 years but he was mentioned by Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop).
She was speaking to Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling) about a potential trip to see her brother when she finishes her exams.

Brenda said: “You’re dads agreed that when you’re exams are over I can take you do the lakes to see Scott.
Cathy’s twin Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) replied: “Scott? You’re less impressive brother.”
“Something to look forward to,” Brenda said.
Cathy reploed: “Yeah, if I get through my exams.”
Brenda continued “You will, if your drama practical gets too much and you get the urge to rush off go and see a teacher. Speak to them first please.”
Heath added: “Yeah sit through this one sis, who else am I going to crabe off.”
Cathy hit back “He doesn’t eve do drama you know that.”
Fans were distracted from the family drama by the mention of Scott.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “I’m hoping mentions of Scott is a good path way for his return.. with Jean.”
Another added: “Scott Windsor mensh?? God almighty, they’re not bringing him back, are they?.”
A third person said: “There was a Scott mention omg!!”
While a fourth added: “Scott Windsor mention.. about time Ben Freeman reprises the role!”
Scott was originally played Toby Cockerell from 1993 until 1996 before Ben Freeman took over the role until his exit in 2007.
The character is the son of Viv Hope (Deena Payne) and Reg Dawson (Niven Boyd) but Reg deserted them when Scott was young.
Viv gave birth to twins Cathy and Heath in 2007 but sady died in the post office a few years later in 2011.

Before leaving the village, Scott began a romance with Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb).
He later left to stay with an old army friend down in London selling cars, leaving the garage in Debbie’s hands.
In 2008, Scott phoned Viv and told her that he won’t be returning and was putting the Tug Ghyll up for sale.
