Emmerdale's Adam Barton star Adam Thomas teases return five years after dramatic exit

Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas has teased a potential return to the ITV soap five years after his character dramatically left the village.

The I’m A Celeb star made is first appearance as Moira Barton’s son in 2009 and remained on the soap for nearly a decade before departing for good in 2018.

After confessing to the murder of Emma Barton to protect Moira, it looked as though Adam would be facing life behind bars before best mate Aaron and step-dad Cain came to his rescue.

He continued: “That’s what I miss the most as well is the cast and the actors that work there, they’re just incredible.”

“You genuinely do become such a huge family, I miss them all so much. So look, never say never, I would love to go back one day!

“If the story was right, then yeah, definitely. Like it’s always held a special place in my heart, Emmerdale, and yeah. I’ve got some friends from there, Danny Miller, Kelvin Fletcher, we’ll be friends for life.”

It comes after the return of Waterloo Road saw Adam reprise his role as Donte Charles – a character he played for three years from 2006.

Fans were left utterly devastated at the end of the first episode however, after Chlo died suddenly after sustaining what she thought were minor injuries in a car accident.
