Emmerdale star Emma Atkins has revealed what storyline she would like to tackle following more than 20 years on the soap.
The actress, 48, made her debut as Charity back in 2000 and has become one of the most recognisable faces in Emmerdale village.
Despite her 23 years on screen, Emma being the central part of some jaw-dropping storylines doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

Next week, Charity is set to discover that her husband, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), had a one-night stand and is the father of Chloe Harris’ (Jessie Elland) baby.
Talking to Daily Star and other press about what she would like to take on next, Emma joked: “To die would be the wrong thing to say.
“I think I’ve blackmailed. I’ve not killed anyone! And again when they say a character’s killed someone then it’s a slippery slope.”
A stunned Lawrence added: “I thought you had.” as his on screen partner insisted: “No I got framed for someone’s murder, it wasn’t me.
Emma went on to say: “I think she’s pretty much done everything. To say I’d want her to be happy is a bit boring.”
The mum-of-one admitted she feels “so blessed” to be a part of this storyline as it has given her the chance to play a range of different emotions.
The star explained: “I think the complexities, particularly with this storyline and what we’ve done, and the journey we’ve all been on as characters, I just feel so blessed that this storyline has come our way.”
Feisty Charity has built a reputation for taking revenge on people when she is crossed, but Emma teased she might have changed her ways.
“There’s got to be some level of vengeance but a lot of it comes in the form of humour with Charity,” Emma explained.
The soap star continued: “She’s trying to mask the real hurt by throwing ridiculous insults all through the village so everyone can hear.”
Fans can expect fireworks as she added: “We’ve actually filmed it and it’s great!
