Coronation Street icon Alexandra Mardell has now landed herself an Aldi job after quitting the ITV soap.
The actress played Emma Brooker, Steve McDonald’s long-lost daughter, for four years on the cobbles before her exit, with Emma jetting off to Australia with her new boyfriend.
The bubbly hairdresser’s time was up after numerous big storylines, including her engagement to the troubled Curtis Delamere amid his mental health issues, and the accidental killing of elderly Ted.

Alexandra said it was the “right time” to turn her mind to other projects upon quitting the role.
And now it seems as though she’s landed a project she really “connected” to – appearing in a new advert for discount supermarket chain Aldi, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Alex voices a cooking pot in the ad, which contains a sausage casserole.
A family can be seen enjoying the meal together, as a narrator explains that it only costs £2.69 for the whole bunch.
Alexandra can then be heard saying: “Just £2.69?”
The clip, posted to Alexandra’s Instagram, shows a magician unveiling the dish from a top hat, before the narrator adds: “Well if you like all of that, you might like Aldi!”
Sharing screenshots from the new ad to her Instagram page, Alexandra joked: “I am… Sausage Casserole! Never felt so connected to a role!”
Her Corrie co-stars soon chimed in on the role in the comments section, as Sally Ann Matthews – who plays Jenny Connor – gushed: “Oh my God. That’s totally being assigned as your ring tone. Love it!”
Toyah Habeeb star Georgia Taylor added: “Absolute banger!”

While The Traitors star Maddy Smedley couldn’t help but chime in with a cheeky Masked Singer dig, commenting: “Who’s that behind the mask?”
Another fan joked: “Crying! The role you were born to play!” as someone else followed up: “A very Yorkshire sausage casserole!”
However, the Aldi ad isn’t the only work Alexandra has landed since quitting the cobbles, as she’s also set to star in ITV sitcom The Family Pie.
The upcoming series will also feature Sherlock star Amanda Abbington, and follows four sisters who have lost their parents and are packing up the family home to sell.
Discussing the project on Instagram, Alexandra wrote: “The Family Pie is out this month!
“Had the BEST time filming this in Liverpool last summer. Such an incredible cast and crew who are now friends for life!
“Hope you love it as much as we loved filming it! Get ready for some Gaynor side-eye.”
