Gladiators Zap star Raye Hollitt wows in sweaty gym video 27 years after show

Raye Hollitt, known as “Zap” on the popular 90s gameshow American Gladiators, has shown social media she’s still an athletic powerhouse almost 30 years later.

The 59-year-old has long-since hung up her competitive hat and is now offering personal fitness classes.

In a video caption shared to her Instagram, Raye explained that after being “inundated” with pleas for individuals wanting her to coach them, she’s opened her doors for remote or virtual training.

The accompanying video shows the Pennsylvania native breaking a sweat at the gym, breathing heavily as she undertakes a gruelling arm workout.

Raye’s long blonde hair doesn’t seem to disturb her, as the bodybuilder gives fans a glimpse into her one-on-one training sessions.

It’s clear Zap has kept up her fitness levels since her Gladiators heydays.

Raye’s loyal following of 3,500 fans are often quick to flood her comments section with supportive messages.

On a recent post where Raye shared herself on the cover of unofficial Netflix documentary ‘Muscles & Mayhem’, fans gushed, “You will always be my favourite Gladiator” and “Can’t wait!!! Awesome shot of you!!!”

The 59-year-old star often shares clips of her gym wins, having recently posted a r ed-hot spin class video showcasing her peak form.

She captioned the post: “Spin spin spin with the ‘Zapster’. Miss me some general AND the best back cracker ever!”

Raye made her Gladiators debut in 1989 at just 25, after a previous boyfriend had got her hooked on bodybuilding.

Zap was a fan favourite on the show until 1995, reappearing as an alumni in the final season.

Like other Gladiators, the show helped launch Raye’s star, unlocking her acting career.

The bodybuilder then went on to star in Baywatch, and films including The Last Hour and Skin Deep.

Gladiators was such a success that spinoffs of the show were put into production all around the world.

The British chapter ran from 1992 until 2000, and is to be renewed this year by the BBC.

Presented by The Chase’s Bradley Walsh and his son Barney, the series reboot will see 16 brand new Gladiators making their debut.

Gladiators is said to be broadcast on BBC One on Saturday evenings later this year
