Gogglebox fans gobsmacked as Channel 4 star unexpectedly swears at husband in fiery rant

Gogglebox fans were quick to react when one Channel 4 favourite swore during a fiery rant over supermarkets with her husband.

During Friday night’s episode, which aired on April 7, fan-favourite Gogglebox cast member Mary Killen sent viewers into a frenzy when she dropped the b-bomb.

Mary could be seen sat in her kitsch living room with husband Giles Wood as they watched an American TV show called Beef.

While the couple tuned into the comedy drama about two strangers who get into a road rage incident that brings chaos into their lives, Giles made a comment that Mary didn’t find too funny.

Giles claimed that one of the actors looked like the people he sees “tutting in a queue in Waitrose”.

Speaking about one of the programme’s characters, Giles said: “He’d be sent to that problem desk which I always avoid, somewhere in the middle of Waitrose where there’s always people queuing and tutting.

“Do you remember that place? Where they express dissatisfaction?” he pressed Mary.

Quick to disagree with her husband and defend her local supermarket, Mary replied: “Oh, you’re just such a ba****d.”

Praising the store, she added: “Waitrose is beautifully run, there’s never a queue of people tutting.”

Giles then teased his wife when he said: “Do you work for Waitrose, Mary? I think you are on a retainer…”

“No, you are wanting a retainer from Lidl,” she snapped back at her hubby.

Fans were quick to take to Twitter at the time, with one writing: “She [Mary] isn’t holding back.”

“Yeah not sure I’d ever call my life partner a bastard. Why are Mary and Giles married when she hates him?” asked a second.

“Did Mary just swear on Gogglebox?” questioned a third.

While a fourth penned: “Giles is the best at winding up Mary.”

And a fifth said: “Giles and Mary always make me laugh.”

Gogglebox airs every Friday at 9pm on Channel 4 and All4.
