Holly Willoughby ‘replaced’ on This Morning in shake-up and fans say same thing

This Morning faced a presenter shake-up with Josie Gibson stepping in to co-host the show alongside Craig Doyle.

The hit ITV show returned for another instalment on Monday (October 9). But the programme was looking a little different.

Instead of Holly co-hosting the show, Josie was there to welcome viewers alongside Craig. It comes after Holly was reported to be taking a break from This Morning following her horrific kidnap ordeal.

Fans soon shared their thoughts of Holly’s ‘replacement’ on X, formerly known as Twitter. One person penned: “Thank goodness it’s Craig and Josie today!!”

Someone else said: “Craig is back!” A third gushed: “Thank f***k, good presenters today.”

Craig and Josie were back to host the show

Last week, it was reported Holly will not return to the show for the foreseeable future. This is due to her being at the centre of an alleged kidnap and murder plot.

The Mirror report that ITV bosses have given Holly permission to remain off work for as long as she needs.. A insider told the publication: “Holly has been left distraught by the news. This has been an absolutely horrible week for her.”

The source said at the time: “At the moment she really is getting through things hour by hour. Her absolute priority is her own safety and that of her family – who are supporting her through this incredibly difficult time.

“There has been no discussion about when, or if, she will return to the This Morning sofa. No decisions have been made about that. But given the terrifying things she has learned this week, the question of returning to work could not be further from her mind.”
