Hollyoaks sign up RuPaul's Drag Race UK royalty for 'ridiculous' Peri and Juliet twist

Hollyoaks have signed up RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard for a special cameo.

Soap bosses have previously revealed that two upcoming special episodes will be set in Brighton, centred around newly reunited couple Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw) and Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell).

The pair create treasured memories amidst Juliet’s cancer treatment as Hollyoaks brings light to the heartbreaking issue-led storyline.

However, before they can sashay away, they are horrified to discover that all of their belongings are missing.

When all hope is lost, their fairy drag mother, reigning champion Danny, comes to the rescue and offers them a lift back to Chester.

With laugh-out-loud, inspiring and emotional scenes, their journey back to the Hollyoaks village is one to watch as the Drag Race UK series four champion offers the girls some words of wisdom.

The grand finale features a brand-new song and bespoke performance by Dannyon The Love Boat.

On the set of Hollyoaks, Danny said “It’s been really fun, and all the crew here are so lovely and happy.

“I can’t wait to share it with you all. It’s ridiculous, in the best Hollyoaks way possible.”

It comes after Liverpool-born performed Danny revealed they were once in the running for Eurovision.

“I would never say never. Fun fact for you – I was in the running for Eurovision many years ago. When there was still a television show to select the artist,” Danny told Daily Star.

“We got down to a final however many, but we didn’t make the TV show. I was so gutted at the time, so it would definitely be something I would not just consider, but jump at the chance to do. I would definitely do it.”

Hollyoaks airs weeknights on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first-look episodes on E4 at 7pm
