Hollyoaks star announces split from partner after getting engaged in ‘hard year’

A Hollyoaks star has confirmed that their relationship with their partner is over after being engaged for over a year.

Ki Griffin, who plays the roles of Ripley Lennox on the Channel 4 soap, annouced the split from fiancé Sorcha Osborne on a post on Instagram.

The pair previously gushed at each other when they revealed their engagement last year, having been together since 2021.

But Sorcha and Ki have called a quits to their relationship, with both clearing any trace of each other on their social media channels.

Taking to their Instagram page, Ki, 22, confirmed the split from Sorcha whilst talking about Pride and their support for trans people.

“Late to the party as usual, I just wanted to thank Pride in London for inviting me and my siblings to be a part of the #nevermarchalone campaign,” they wrote.

“I’ve had a hard year with many ups and downs much like a lot of my trans siblings out there, I started my medical transition, broke up with my fiancé and supported my mum through her stroke recovery which all played a part in my non-attendance of pride marches this year.”

They then added that they felt immense support for the actor after they came out as an intersex trans person.

Griffin then thanked photographer friend Felix Pilgrim for taking gorgeous snaps of the star with their siblings, doting: “These truly mean the world to me”.

Ki became the first non-binary and intersex actor to join the Channel 4 soap in 2020, breaking the mold for future trans actors.

Speaking to The Sun when they first joined the soap, Ki admitted that they never thought they would be able to make it to TV.

“I grew up thinking there would never be a place for me in the film and TV industry unless I was behind the camera,” they confessed.

But they went on to praise the soap for “the lengths those in the industry are going to in order to have not only representation, but positive representation for some of the most marginalised groups in society”.

Griffin eventually left the soap in August last year when Ripley started working with homeless transgender teens, leaving the Hollyoaks village.
