Homes Under The Hammer star told he had ‘hours to live’ before emergency heart surgery

Homes Under The Hammer star Martin Roberts was told he had “hours to live” before he was hospitalised for emergency heart surgery previously.

The former I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star had to have surgery when doctors noticed there was an issue with his heart.

The 59-year-old had his life-saving operation last year after he started experiencing heart pain, which was due to the fluid-filled sack which protects the organ expanding.

The painful change had been putting extra pressure on his heart, and he was forced to go to hospital or risk the worst.

He said: “I had less than a few hours to live.”

The television regular went on while talking to The Sun: “I was rushed into hospital and had an emergency operation where they stabbed a tube into the sack around the heart and drew a litre and a half of fluid.

“Had I not been in the right place… Three weeks earlier I was on the road in a transit van and if it had happened then, I would be dead.”
