Catalina Guirado was the British-New Zealander actress and model that caught the showbiz world by storm in the 90’s.
She was arguably best known as Chris Evans’ sidekick, dubbed the “Gorgeous Girl”, when he hosted TFI Friday from 1996 to 1997 on Channel 4. At first she had a starring role in the “Ugly Blokes” segment of the show, where men who were considered unattractive would be given the opportunity to turn her down.
Through these appearances she received ‘It Girl’ status as a household name, however she was later dropped during series three of the show with little information surrounding her departure. However, it wasn’t too long until producers from ITV came calling.

Catalina later retired from the entertainment industry and now, 20 years later, she works as a designer of horse riding attire. She possesses her own social media account called Caballo Design which is dedicated to the clothing.
Her bio read: “Fashion focused UV protective equestrian sport designs. Designed by a horse lover for horse lovers!” and her website sells items which includes polo shirts with bespoke embroidery, bags, base layers and other apparel which start at £26 and could go up to £64.
She is best remembered for being handpicked by ITV to appear on the second instalment of what would become a staple of british broadcasting. She entered the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here camp on the 28 April and left camp ten days later in seventh place.
Although she still returned to the studio with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly for the series finale four days after leaving the jungle. And it seems her appearance was warmly received by the public as she then made appearances on various shows such as Loose Lips, Bo’Selecta and even This Morning.
In the same year she was also invited to take part in the popular Stars In Their Eyes competition where she chose to impersonate singer Deborah Harry. She was joined by some of her fellow campmates as well as contestants from series one for the I’m A Celebrity special of the show.
