I’m A Celeb’s Carol Vorderman gushes over sports bras as they save her from injury

Carol Vorderman and Alison Hammond are big fans of wearing a sports bra, they said – as it stops “everything jiggling around”.

The revelation came after a segment on This Morning about how sports bras make women run faster and how they should be seen as an essential piece of sporting equipment.

Proper support improved women’s running times by 4.2 seconds for every minute, researchers found.

And buxom Alison, 48, joked that sports bras improved her time by eight seconds.

She said: “I do love a good sports bra. But the worst bit is taking it off…that big ‘bu-donk!’

“But when I’ve got one on I feel amazing, like I can do anything.”

Meanwhile, I’m A Celebrity star Carol, who said she “hates” running but still smashes six miles a week said that they stop “everything jiggling about” and “saves you getting two black eyes”.

Alison then joked about the “relief” of taking a sports bra off after exercise.

The discussion was ahead of the London Marathon this weekend and co-presenter Nick Ferrari then waded in and said men need “support” in their underpants, too, in case of chafing.

In other news, Carol, 62, has admitted she “lied to everyone” during her last jungle stint.

The TV presenter is about to make her jungle re-entry in the special All-Stars edition of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity in South Africa.

But ahead of the premiere of the special new series, the personality made a surprising revelation about the last time she competed on the popular endurance show.

She explained: “Last time I did I’m A Celebrity, I tried to double bluff everyone. I told them I was frightened of things I wasn’t really, like heights!

“It did sort of semi work. Afterwards, I told them the story as I thought I would never be going again and I admitted what I was really frightened of so now they all know!

“It’s just important to enjoy it and have fun.

“We’ve still got a WhatsApp group from our time on I’m a Celebrity in 2016!”

I’m A Celebrity… South Africa launches on ITV1 and ITVX on Monday, April 24 at 9pm.
