Coronation Street fans can expect plenty of drama over the Christmas break when Paul sparks death fears, Peter leaves the cobbles and Carla faces an explosive family bombshell
Coronation Street continues to bring the drama over the festive period when Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell) panics when she can’t get in touch with her brother Paul.
Paul and his new husband Billy Mayhew had plans to have a quiet Christmas together snuggled up on the sofa with a bottle of fizz and a film. But their dreams of a peaceful Christmas are quickly shattered when Chesney and Todd Grimshaw break down the door.
It’s fair to say the dynamic duo certainly get more than they bargained for when they barge into their flat. Back at Chesney and Gemma’s house, Bernie video calls the family from prison. The tots catch up on the presents they received from Father Christmas and sing Away in a Manger together for their grandma.

Elsewhere, Peter gifts Carla a gorgeous silver bracelet which is inscribed with ‘P loves C’, but he is shocked when she reveals what she has bought for him. On Boxing Day, the cobbles power couple take a look back over their tumultuous relationship.

It’s at this point that they realise that although they will always love each other, they may be better off apart. As they sit down to their last supper together, the pair struggle to come to terms with a future without each other.
As Peter leaves the flat with his holdall, he’s touched to find the whole family, with the exception of his son Simon, waiting outside. He exchanges emotional farewells with each of them and promises Ken that he’ll keep in touch.
But it doesn’t take long before Carla is thrown through another loop when she bumps into Rob Donovan’s son, Bobby (Jack Carroll). After listening to his sob story, Carla agrees to let Bobby stay for a few weeks if he plays by her rules.
But how will Carla find her new lodger? Fans will have to stay tuned to see how his move pans out.
