Grace Dent’s replacement for I’m A Celebrity has been revealed after she was dramatically removed from the jungle on Monday morning (November 27).
Dent, 50, had been a campmate on the current series of the ITV series, but left the programme on Monday on “medical grounds”. The decision did not come as a shock to viewers, who had been asking bosses to “help” Dent as she had seemingly lost weight.
Food critic Grace had been voted by the public to take part in the upcoming Bushtucker trial, titled ‘Down the Tubes’. She was set to take part in the trial together with This Morning host Josie Gibson.

But fans of the show were quick to show their concern for Grace’s well-being after she barely reacted to the news that she would have to face another trial to feed camp. During host Ant and Dec’s time in camp, she kept her head down and did not speak much when the hosts came to check on the group.
A spokesperson for ITV said on Grace’s exit confirmed that she had left the show. The spokesperson added: “Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike.”
The news of Grace’s departure broke live on air during Good Morning Britain, where Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley revealed the information. After having spoken to showbiz reporter Richard Arnold earlier in the show, he returned later in the programme to confirm the news.
Speaking from the Gold Coast, close to where the jungle camp is located, Richard said: “There was a lot of speculation on the Twittersphere and other social media platforms about Grace and that she didn’t look well and that her spirit seemed somewhat dampened alongside her other campmates.” He added that due to Grace’s exit, a spot had opened up on the trial.
Speaking via video link in his hotel, Richard continued: “It does seem that being voted for this next trial has broken the camel’s back as it were. All we know is officially is that she has left after 10 days on the basis of medical grounds.”
As a result, ITV bosses had to step in and fill the gap in who would do the trial to earn food for camp. Arnold revealed that producers had already found her replacement.
“It means that, of course, Josie will be facing the Down The Tubes trail but she won’t be facing it alone. Not that Grace has departed the camp, I can exclusively reveal that Danielle Harold was the third most-voted campmate to take part in tonight’s trial, so it’ll be down to Danielle and Josie.”
As a result, the upcoming trial will be Danielle’s third time taking on the challenge. For Josie, this will be her second time trying to earn meals for her fellow campmates.
I’m A Celebrity airs every day on ITV1 and ITVX.
