ITV I’m A Celeb’s Grace Dent was ‘bracing herself for Bushtucker trial – not to leave’

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! took a different turn with the announcement that MasterChef’s Grace Dent had swiftly exitted the programme.

The TV star was said to have left on “medical grounds”. There has since been calls that her departure was brought on because she was voted to do the latest fateful Bushtucker trial down under.

A source close to the BBC food critic, told the Mail Online that being voted for the Touchdown of Terror trial – alongside This Morning’s Josie Gibson – would have been “the straw that broke the camel’s back”. They also outlined this would be the main reason for her departure.

However, Inbaal Honigman, celebrity psychic and body language expert has informed Daily Star that this didn’t appear to be the case. The specialist told us that Grace was “nervous” but had been “bracing herself for the challenge” and wasn’t giving off the vibe of wanting to hotfoot any time soon when Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly read out her name.

Grace wasn’t ready to leave over bushtucker trial says expert

Inbaal explained: “As Grace and Josie wait to hear who’s doing the challenge, their faces are very different to one another. Grace holds her chin up and is not very animated.”

She added: “The chin up shows that she’s trying to be brave, it is a gesture of pride, meaning she doesn’t want it to break her, even if she’s nervous. Her stillness, with her mouth turned slightly downwards, shows that she’s not looking forward to what’s ahead.”

Josie “wears her heart on her sleeve” says expert

The expert went on: “When Grace hears of the results, she momentarily doesn’t respond at all. Then she raises her chin a little bit in a show of dignity, as if she’s saying to herself ‘chin up, girl’. It’s a subtle movement, but it shows that at that moment, she’s bracing herself for the challenge, not deciding to leave.”

When comparing Grace’s response to her co-star Josie, Inbaal believed that out of the two, it was the This Morning star who was noticeably more nervous. The expert revealed that the Bristol-born “wears her heart on her sleeve” and that her fear had been more evident.

“Josie, in contrast, is pinching her lower lip, stroking her temples, covering her mouth, exhaling strongly, a full rainbow of anxiety gestures, wearing her entire heart on her sleeve, showing how nervous she is”, said the body language expert.

With Grace leaving the show before taking part in the Bushtucker trial, there was speculation over who would replace her on tonights show. It was later confirmed that EastEnders actress Danielle Harold has landed the short straw after being the third most voted celebrity in the public vote. She will step up and join Josie on Monday’s episode.
