Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will never get to play James Bond – because he is too beefy.
Casting director Debbie McWilliams said she’d never give the job to him because the character is meant to be a normal, middle-aged looking bloke.
In October the beefy wrestler-turned actor, 50, said the film series he’d most like to appear in was Bond. He said he was desperate to play the superspy and not a villain.

But Debbie has dashed his hopes, saying: “There isn’t an absolute ideal mould. He has to look like a regular guy – you can’t be Dwayne Johnson.

“He has to have a great physique – it demands a high level of fitness – but he shouldn’t stand out in any situation.”
She also ruled out young actors playing 007, saying they did not have the experience or mental capacity for the role.
Debbie said: “We did look at a lot of younger actors and I just don’t think they had the gravitas, they didn’t have the experience, because it’s not just the part they’re taking on, it’s a massive responsibility.

“So we kind of scrubbed that idea and went back to the drawing board and started again.”
The Rock said in an interview he reckons he would be an ideal James Bond despite not being British, saying it is like Briton Henry Cavill playing Superman.
Luther actor Idris Elba has been the favourite the become the next Bond after Daniel Craig, 55, stepped down from the role – and Johnson reckons he would also be an ideal man for the job.

He said: “I do like the idea of my boy Idris Elba being James Bond though right? I like that idea a lot. So I’m going to advocate for that. For him as Bond? Yeah.”
