James Corden has been branded the “most difficult and obnoxious” person to work with by one of his former co-stars.
The Gavin and Stacey actor worked on the hit game show A League of Their Own from 2010 until 2019 – and director Craig Duncan wasn’t happy with the US talk show host’s behaviour.
Fans of the show will know that certain games and stunts taking place on the show were filmed in advance, away from the bits to camera taking place in the studio.

And Craig was drafted in to direct one of these challenges along with Freddie Flintoff, Jack Whitehall and Jamie Redknapp.
Opening up about the experience of filming a cooking task with the gang, Duncan claimed on his YouTube channel: “The most difficult and obnoxious presenter I’ve ever worked with is James Corden.
“I was asked by his production company would I be willing to direct a challenge that was gonna be part of their A League of Their Own show. It was season seven, episode three, and I’ll never forget it.
“I said sure, and they said, ‘How are you at working with difficult presenters?’ I say, ‘Oh right, ok. Well, I’ve filmed the Three Tenors before, and you can’t get more of a prima donna than an opera singer’.”
Craig headed off to watch a rehearsal for the show, and watched James Corden work through his lines which were printed on a card in front of him.
The director explained: “It came to a point where he had to read from a card.
“And it was kind of a joke in there, and he just looked at it like, ‘That’s not funny, that’s not funny. It’s s**t, we have to rewrite that’.”
Though Duncan could have overlooked the one incident, things didn’t get any easier from there.
Corden only had a certain time he was available to be on set, with the director explaining: “We were working [the shot] out.
“When old buggerlugs pipes up, ‘What the f**k is going on here? It’s obvious what you do. It’s so obvious how you shoot it, it’s stupid’.
“And I’m like, ‘He’s absolutely right guys, let’s do that, that’s the best thing to do. We know what we’re doing, right?’”
And rather than the shoot taking the five minutes it otherwise would have done, with Corden’s intervention things allegedly ran 45 minutes late.

However, since his video went viral, Duncan wanted to clear a few things up – confessing he’s now quit making TV and is used to “celebs being rude to him”.
He wrote: “Bosses are ‘short’ with staff all the time. James never told me, ‘You’re stupid’ in fact, I can’t remember the exact things he said… it was more a rant at me about camera positions with an element of swearing involved.
“It probably ‘felt’ worse than I portray in the video, but it was certainly as bad as I say it was.
“Boo hoo me. Someone was rude to me 10 years ago. So what? Well, if you’ve had a big celeb yell at you, it impacts you for a long time.”
He added: “This video is me standing up to it and citing James as an example of the bad behaviour that the industry ignores all the time.
“Production companies and broadcasters reward bad behaviour because no-one is prepared to stand up to presenters and celebs. There was a time when the producer had the power to hire or fire them. That’s changed. Now they collude with it.”
Daily Star has contacted Corden’s representatives for comment.
