James Corden says it’s ‘not fair’ to wade into Prince Harry row ahead of his UK return

James Corden has said getting involved in Prince Harry’s royal row is “not fair” as he teased text messages from the royal.

The 44-year-old is set to return to the UK after spending the last eight years in California to front his mega-successful show, the Late Late Show.

James, his wife TV producer Julia Carey, and their three children, Max, Carey and Charlotte, are said to be leaving the States to spend more time with family.

But James’ upcoming move means he’ll be saying goodbye to his reported good pal, Prince Harry – who first moved across the pond back in 2020.

The Gavin & Stacy alum and royal seemed to have built up a close friendship over the years, so much so that James even received a message from the Prince in the middle of a new interview.

However, despite that James was not keen to give his own take on the current royal debate, telling The Sun: “It’s not fair!”

Instead, he playfully teased the nature of the texts, quipping: “Oh God, wouldn’t you just love to see these?”

Earlier this year, James revealed that he has visited Harry and Meghan’s home.

“I have. It was more a sort of play date scenario [with the kids]. Then we went out for dinner after, it was lovely,” he told The Sun.

James announced in April last year that he would be stepping down from his Late Late Show after his eighth series.

In December, the British star admitted it’s “terrifying” to leave the hit talk show but revealed he’s moving back to the UK because there are “people at home that are getting older.”

Appearing on CBS’s The Morning Show, James said: “I feel excited and scared, which is probably the right place to be because you’re jumping to the unknown.

“It’s such a wonderful job it’s the best eight years of my life and it’s given me more than I ever dreamt it could be,” he gushed about his Late Late Show.

James added: “The reason to leave is we’re a long way from home in Los Angeles, and there’s people at home that are getting older and we want our kids to know them and be around them.

“I think anyone who’s got kids knows that feeling of wanting to put down roots in a place where your family are gonna be.”
