British Soap Awards fans were left in tears after they noticed a rather cheeky blunder with Jane McDonald.
The biggest night in soapland kicked off on Tuesday night (June 6) as stars from Coronation Street, Emmerdale, EastEnders, Hollyoaks and Doctors all came together for the glitzy do.
Hosted by Jane McDonald, the audience, and viewers at home, couldn’t get enough of her new gig.

However, some viewers couldn’t help but notice a cheeky slip-up when it came to the positioning of Jane’s microphones.
Strutting on stage in a gorgeous gold gown, Jane made her way to a presenting podium – where microphones were placed equal width apart in front of her chest.
It’s fair to say the blunder got plenty of viewers talking, who rushed to Twitter to share their thoughts.
“Omg please tell me I’m not the only one giggling at this,” said one person.
Another added: “Who’s checking the mics,” while someone else quipped: “Unfortunate microphone positioning on ITV.”
Jane’s hosting gig went down a treat with viewers at home.
As Jane, 60, took to the stage for the first time, fans all had the same request, insisting she should be made the permanent host of the annual event.
One fan shared: “Can we have Jane McDonald every year, please? #soapawards”.
“Do not miss tonight’s #soapawards such a good show and wish they’d got us Jane McDonald years ago she was BRILLIANT!!” added a second viewer.
Another person wrote: “I know its only just started but Jane McDonald is a fabulous host!!!:) #SoapAwards.
While a fourth echoed: “Loving Jane nice and refreshing #soapawards.”
Meanwhile another blunder took place later on, when winner of BBC’s The Traitors presented the award for Best Villain.
He walked on stage in a green cloak before pulling the hood down to read out the nominations.
The nominees included Emmerdale’s Al Chapman ( played by Michael Wildman), Coronation Street’s Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) and EastEnders’ Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
But as he read out the nominee, and winner, Aaron’s name, he appeared to mispronounce it – and viewers straight away noticed.
