Liz Hurley’s wild Shane Warne romp re-enacted for raunchy new biopic series

A new Channel 9 biopic looking into Australian cricketer Shane Warne’s legacy features the re-enactment of a raunchy sexploit with none other than Liz Hurley.

The Austin Powers star romped with Warne in a hotel room back in 2010, after the pair initially met at the races.

Shane popped the question in 2011, but the pair ended up splitting as things “got scary” as they were constantly hounded by paparazzi.

Shane confessed: “We couldn’t go anywhere else because we’d just get 30-40 people, photographers, news crews, everywhere we went.

“We had seven cars following us and a helicopter over our head just following us, running red lights, cutting off in front of us.”

Conflicting schedules also led to the demise of their romance.

But in the new biopic which looks at the late sports star’s life, their romp is recreated in technicolour glory.

The second episode of the new series has been sarcastically branded “raw, urgent and necessary” by News.com Australia, which describes the scene as taking place in a “dark and tacky hotel room”.

Warne – played by Alex Williams – gushed during the scene: “I can’t believe this. It’s gotta be a dream. Liz Hurley!”

The pair later get down and dirty snogging in a London alleyway, before they were interrupted by paps.

News.com reports: “What follows over the next 90 minutes is a partial stocktake of Warnie’s sex scandals.”

The series also explores Warne’s phone sex with a 22-year-old nurse, a woman who sold the story of their exploits for $10,000, and his split from wife Simone Callahan.

In the series, which has just a 3.3/10 rating on IMDb, Liz is played by Shanti Kali, while Marny Kennedy plays Shane’s ex-wife.

And Shane’s real family have been left disappointed by how the series portrayed the timeline of his romances, with his father Keith reportedly branding it “inaccurate”.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford spoke to Keith, and said his son’s growth from “a larrikin teenager to a mature adult” was missed out in the series.

Ford added: “He also feels there were some inaccuracies that didn’t reflect well on Shane. Such as the time he took up with Liz Hurley.

“Which is correct, but in the show it’s presented he did that during the time he was still married to Simone and Keith is quite adamant there was a distance between those two things happening.

“He’s not angry, he’s just disappointed by the result.”
