Love Island star warns new islanders ‘be very careful’ as he issues dire advice

Love Island finalist Tyler Cruickshank has issued a stark warning to this year’s ITV2 contestants after his time in the villa back in 2021.

Tyler finished in fourth place in the summer series of the show alongside Kaz Kamwi, though the pair called it quits shortly after.

And he has some very sage advice when it comes to the Islanders with a ‘game plan’, as he warned them: “Be very careful.”

In a candid chat with Daily Star, Tyler confessed he went to the villa for two reasons – to search for The One and have the “experience of a lifetime”.

He explained: “I went in at a time where we were just coming out of Covid. It was a really crap time. It was the first time I’ve ever had to experience my freedom being taken away, in the sense of you can’t leave the house.

“I was on furlough at the time as well so was literally spending all my time watching Netflix and doing home workouts. I’m a social person, I like going out and experiencing new things. For that to be taken away… it was very tough.”

Tyler, who is now studying for a law qualification, added: “For myself, I really wanted to try something new and have the experience of a lifetime.

“I made 2021 the year for trying new things – I thought, ‘anything that comes my way, I’m gonna dive in and do it.’

“So I didn’t go on with any sort of game plan or anything, because I feel like if you do that and you’re disappointed then you will be kicking yourself and be left overthinking things.

“Whereas as you go in to experience it, it’s a once in a lifetime experience. If you go in thinking, ‘I want to go to a different country and meet different people’, then fantastic – because even if you don’t meet the love of your life, you’ll definitely meet friends for life.

“It’s something you can tell your kids about in the future,” Tyler added.

But on a more sombre note, he warned incoming stars: “I’m of the opinion of don’t go in there with a game plan, because it may not work out and you may put yourself in a worse situation than you were in before.

“Just be very careful, people are going in for that.”
