The pair are starring in Greta Gerwig’s highly-anticipated Barbie which hits cinemas on July 21, both playing a different version of the titular character.
Margot’s fans were freaking out in April after finding out that her “real life twin” was set to be sharing the silver screen for the first time in the upcoming movie.
The Suicide squad star revealed she often has people mistake her for Emma and tell her she was great in the Netflix smash-hit.
“When people come up and say, ‘I loved you in Sex Education,’ I just say, ‘Thank you so much’”, Margot told Buzzfeed.
The British Sex Education stunner burst onto the scene in 2019, leaving viewers marvelling at the uncanny resemblance to the Wolf of Wall Street star.
In fact, director Gerwig was going to dedicate a whole piece of the film to the doppelgängers.
However once the actors adorned their full hair and make-up, to their disappointment they found that they didn’t actually look as alike as hoped.
“We were gonna do this whole joke about us looking similar”, Margot revealed.
“Once we got all dressed up as our Barbies, we were kind of like… we don’t look that similar.
“When she’s got her brown hair and I’ve got my blonde hair. So we didn’t put that joke in the movie.”
Margot plays the film’s lead Barbie, opposite Ryan Gosling as Ken.
