Max George’s old boyband pal unrecognisable 13 years since chart success in new career

Andy Brown first hit the spotlight with a scandal-stricken X Factor group before finding success with boyband Lawson – but he now looks completely different as he takes on another career.

The musician joined the group Avenue, of which The Wanted’s Max George was also a member, after an original member left following their disqualification from the ITV talent show.

Avenue weren’t too successful, but after leaving the group and forming Lawson, Andy was soon climbing the UK charts.

Lawson burst onto the scene in 2009 and went on to find fame after the release of their debut album back in 2012.

Andy first tried his hand at music success with Max George’s old group Avenue

The four-member group had a handful of UK Top 10 singles, such as When She Was Mine, Taking Over Me, and Juliet, while their debut album hit No4.

But nowadays, Andy has stepped behind the camera after giving up fame, as he is now a professional photographer with his own company.

He hasn’t completely escaped the lights of show-business though, as a lot of his work is with actors, using his skills to shoot eye-catching headshots.

And it seems like Andy – who is based in London – could still be in touch with his old pal Max George, as one of the pinned posts on his account features some glamorous shots of Max’s girlfriend Maisie Smith.

Other recognisable faces he’s photographed include former Britain’s Got Talent star Michael Auger of Collabro and Outlander actor Duncan Lacroix.

He’s also shot the likes of EastEnders stars Shaheen Jafargholi, Zack Morris and Gurlaine Kaur Garcha, as well as TOWIE’s Chloe Meadows.

And while his new career path is clearly going well, his musical exploits didn’t get off to the best of starts.

Avenue entered the third series of The X Factor back in 2006 and made it through to the final 12 – though Andy was not a member of the group then.

They were soon kicked off the show as it was discovered they had professional representation and were formed specifically to enter the show.

Andy soon replaced member Jamie Tinkler, and they stuck together, eventually releasing a UK Top 50 single, while also proclaiming their innocence from their X Factor scandal.

Of course, Andy’s former colleague Max George went on to achieve huge success with The Wanted, sticking around in the public eye and recently appearing on Channel 4’s Scared Of The Dark.
