Netflix have given the green light for a Stranger Things spin-off series.
The sci-fi series has rocketed since its debut on the streaming platform in 2016 and quickly became one of the company’s most-watched series.
Therefore it only made sense that the streaming service plans to expand the series into a franchise.

According to Variety, Netflix bosses plan to go forward with an animated show instead of a live-action series.
Show creators Matt and Ross Duffer said in a statement: “We’ve always dreamed of an animated ‘Stranger Things’ in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving.
“To see this dream realised has been absolutely thrilling.”
They wrapped up by saying: “We couldn’t be more blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have come up with — the scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure continues…”
Bosses didn’t reveal that the spin-off would not focus on characters such as Millie Bobby Brown’s character Eleven or Joe Keery’s Steve Harrington.
The announcement comes straight off the back of another shocking update from the Stranger Things world as actress Millie, 19, got engaged to her long-time boyfriend.

On Tuesday (April 11) Millie announced her engagement to her fiancée Jake Bongiovi, who’s Jon Bon Jovi’s son.
She took to Instagram to post the black and white picture of the couple on the beach, all smiles as Millie proudly showed off her diamond ring.
Milly grabbed her fiancé Jake’s arm, which was lovingly wrapped around her shoulders, as he laughed and closed his eyes.
As the caption on her Instagram announcement, Millie wrote: “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want them all,” and signed off with a white heart emoji.
As expected, fans and friends went completely wild in the comments and flocked to share their thoughts on the couple’s wedding plans.
A keen follower typed: “Both look cute together,” with two red heart emojis.
