There’s a horror film on Netflix that has got everyone talking – and many viewers were left “blindsided” by a brutal twist partway through.
That film is A Classic Horror Story, released back in 2021, and fans are just now discovering how truly frightening the film is.
Starring Matila Anna Ingrid Lutz as Elisa and Francesco Russo as Fabrizio, the movie follows a group of friends travelling through southern Italy, when their car crashes in the middle of the road and leaves them stranded in the woods.

The gang soon realise they’re being stalked by a cult who want to sacrifice them one by one.
And TikTok user itsheidiwong wants to warn people about the huge plot twist in the film, telling her fans: “Once you get to the plot twist you’ll be like, ‘How did I not see this coming?’
“All the clues in the beginning will make sense in the end!” she vowed.
Fans have been chiming in on Twitter about the chilling film, with one writing: “I really liked Netflix’s A Classic Horror Story […] it’s a typical slasher until it’s not!”
Someone else chimed in: “A Classic Horror Story is probably one of the best Netflix originals I’ve seen, wow!”
As another fan echoed: “I watched A Classic Horror Story on Netflix and really liked it. The name is very fitting as it is packed with horror stereotypes and references to other movies but that’s intentional and presented with a clever twist.”
“A Classic Horror Story was good fun. Some truly horrific moments and a very clever ending. Make sure you don’t hit stop when the credits start to roll!” another viewer warned.
And Netflix bosses didn’t skimp on promoting the film, either, and decided to go for a publicity stunt in Milan that had all eyes on the small screen.

The stunt was a homage to horror movies past and present, and definitely got people talking.
A long LCD screen was placed in the centre of the city, featuring a mysterious cloaked figure shrouded in red mist that would follow any passers by who happened to walk along the side of the billboard.
Spooky or what?
Horror fans have been going wild for the streaming service’s most recent horror offerings, raving about flicks like Incantation – which features real-life devil summoning charms – and German horror Old People, which sees OAPs turn feral.
