Netflix has teased the first look at the second instalment of the final season of The Crown.
The last series of the show is currently airing on the streaming platform and has already caused a stir. The opening scenes of the first episode deal with Diana, Princess of Wales’ death in Paris in 1997.
Following her tragic passing, the show deals with the fallout from her death and the crisis due to the lack of action from the Royal Family. The last episode of Part 1 of the series dealt with Diana’s tragic funeral.

But now, the first photos of the second part of the series have been revealed by Netflix bosses, and it seems Diana’s passing will continue to have grave effects on the monarchy. The show will also explore how the family have had to adapt to modern society as the world entered the 21st century.

One of the most anticipated storylines set to be covered during the second part of the show is the budding relationship between the Prince and Princess of Wales. The pair first locked eyes on each other whilst studying at St Andrew’s University in 2001.
Now, fans of the show will get to indulge as Kate and William’s relationship is set to be played out as the pair tried to keep their romance strong. Newcomers Meg Bellamy and Ed McVey are set to join the mammoth cast, playing Kate and William respectively.
The show will look into their early years of courtship, as well as navigating her potential integration into the Royal Household. It will also leave viewers hot under the collar, as Meg dons Princess Catherine’s iconic translucent dress that she wore for a charity fashion show in 2002.

Another snap from the show that has been released sees Prince Charles, played by legendary actor Dominic West, standing next to his young sons whilst on a skiing trip. This is an apparent recreation of the iconic snap of Charles taking Princes William and Harry on a holiday in 1998, less than a year after their mum passed away.
Other snaps released by Netflix bosses include the Queen, played by Imelda Staunton, greeting a crowd with Prince Phillip, portrayed by Sir Jonathan Pryce, standing proudly by her side. Staunton, 67, took over the iconic role from Olivia Coleman in the previous season and will portray Her Late Majesty as she approaches her golden jubilee celebrations.

Charles will also tie the knot with Camilla Parker-Bowles in the next instalment of the series, another pic revealed. The pair wed in 2005 at Windsor Guildhall in Berkshire, much to the dismay of much of the British public.
The final part of the final season of the Crown is set to drop on December 14. Netflix bosses confirmed that the current series would be the last in the controversial biographical drama, leaving loyal fans devastated.
