Ozzy Osbourne makes heartbreaking tour announcement as he's 'too weak' to carry on

Ozzy Osbourne has made a heartbreaking announcement to fans as he cancelled his upcoming UK and European tour dates, saying he is ‘too weak’ to tour.

The Black Sabbath frontman and rock icon posted a heartfelt statement on social media today (February 1, 2023), announcing his retirement from touring.

He explained that he was still recovering from a spine injury he suffered in a fall in 2019, and that despite surgery and treatments, his “body is still physically weak.”

“As you may all know, four years ago, this month, I had a major accident, where I damaged my spine.

“My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage. My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) treatment, my body is still physically weak.”

The rock legend added: “Never would I have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way.”

Ozzy thanked fans for their support and patience in hanging onto tickets for his UK and European farewell tour dates, which had been postponed several times due to his accident and the Covid-19 pandemic.

The No More Tours 2 concerts were due to kick off in Europe in May, with UK tour dates scheduled across the country in June.

He said: “I am honestly humbled by the way you’ve all patiently held onto your tickets for all this time, but in all good conscience, I have now come to the realisation that I’m not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/UK tour dates, as I know I couldn’t deal with the travel required.”

The singer explained that his team were coming up with ways for the singer to perform without travelling from country to country, and thanked the fans for their “endless dedication.”

Ozzy signed off the emotional statement, saying: “I want to thank my family…my band…my crew…my longtime friends, Judas Priest, and of course, my fans for their endless dedication, loyalty, and support, and for giving me the life that I never ever dreamed I would have.

“I love you all.”

Fans flocked to share their support for Ozzy following the announcement, with one saying: “All our Love Ozzy.”

“We love you. Take care,” added a second, while a third commented: “You take care of yourself. You’ve given SO MUCH to all of us for so long Ozzy. And we love you and only want you to be well. Sending prayers for good health and happiness.”
