Patsy Kensit 'swooned' over EastEnders' Phil Mitchell star first time she met him

Actress Patsy Kensit confessed she “swooned” over EastEnders icon Phil Mitchell during the first time she met him.

On Wednesday night’s The One Show (March 15), Patsy appeared on the BBC talk show to chat about her time on the soap.

During a discussion with hosts Jermaine Jenas and Alex Jones, Patsy revealed how “starstruck” she was when she first time the cast.

Patsy admitted she was nervous to meet Steve McFadden who played the soap’s hardman.

Talking about her first day on set, she told the presenters: “The whole cast, the crew, the whole experience was fantastic and I’m a superfan so I was terrified.

“It was the first time meeting all these people that I idolised….

“The first time I saw Phil Mitchell, I swooned.”

Patsy is currently playing Lola’s mum Emma on the BBC soap and has returned to Albert Square.

The stunning star added: “This was a job I always wanted, I always wanted to be on the show.

The ex-Holby City icon also revealed she once tried out for EastEnders years before but was rejected from the role.

She told: “I auditioned years ago for a part and didn’t get the job and I was gutted, and suddenly it came back to me and I was offered, Emma.

“I’m so grateful to have been on the show cos it was a dream of mine.”

Fans took to social media to comment on how fabulous she looked during her The One show appearance.
