Paul Hollywood’s son a ‘no show’ at Great British Bake Off star’s wedding

Paul Hollywood tied the knot for the second time this week, with reports indicating that his son Josh was notably absent from the wedding.

The renowned Great British Bake Off judge exchanged vows with pub landlady Melissa Spalding in an extravagant ceremony at The Anassa hotel in Cyprus on Wednesday (September 20). However, despite the presence of 75 of Paul’s “closest” friends and family, including co-star Prue Leith, it seems that his 21-year-old son chose not to attend.

Josh is the only child from Paul’s previous marriage to his first wife, Alex. Their union hit a rocky patch in 2017 when Paul admitted to an affair with his American Bake Off co-star, Marcela Valladolid.

Although they briefly attempted to reconcile, more rumors of infidelity emerged, leading to their ultimate decision to part ways. Alex, who has since made a name for herself as an Instagram cook, candidly share:, “My own marriage was too over-seasoned with extra-marital affairs for my taste, and so I opted out and chose the single menu instead.”

Ironically, Paul, now 57, reportedly tied the knot with his new wife, Melissa, 39, in Cyprus, the very place where he and Alex had initially crossed paths in the 1990s.

The resort where they exchanged vows holds sentimental significance as it was once a cherished holiday destination for the former couple during happier times.

Back in 2019, a representative for Paul revealed that Josh had not communicated with his father for two years. This estrangement began when Paul began dating the then 22-year-old barmaid Summer Monteys-Fullam shortly after parting ways with Alex. The representative stated at the time: “Paul hasn’t seen his son since November 2017, and the split has been deeply distressing to him. Paul is aware of his son’s feelings on the matter…Josh has behaved admirably over the past two years.”
