The Valentino actress also explained she had spoken to Paul on the phone just hours before she died.

Speaking to hosts Susanna Reid and Adil Ray, she revealed: “I can’t believe it. Just to hang up the phone and hours later for someone to die who was so happy. Full of life.

“But he died in his own bed. His husband was there, Andre, who he’s been with for so many years. The most divine man.

“And Cilla [Black] was there, Barabara Windsor. They’re gone. They’ll all be partying in heaven you know – and the Queen.”

Paul’s husband Andre confirmed the entertainer’s death on Wednesday (March 29) in a public statement.

He wrote: “It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening.
