The highly anticipated Love Island Games has finally hit screens and fans have noticed some major differences between the new version of the show and the original.
The show began by introducing the audience to the islanders and they were all familiar faces from previous seasons of the show. . Instead of a quick coupling up like the original Love Island the stars all sat and chatted for a while.
Fans of Love Island took to Instagram to complain about the opening sequence and revealed that they prefer the original. One person said: “These intros should not be this damn long.”

Another fan added: “This intro mad long, it’s just not that serious. How long does it take to introduce people we already know??” While a third person posted a picture of someone pulling on their own hair.
After the introduction the stars met the host Maya Jama and ahead of the iconic coupling up, the Islanders played a spy-themed challenge which determined the order in which the girls would pick who they would couple up with. The group were gathered around the fire pit and in a shocking twist had to kiss the islanders that they were most attracted to.
Then the Maya revealed an even bigger twist – that the current Islanders will be blindfolded whilst kissing. Two bombshells then entered the villa of UK’s Megan Barton Hanson and US’ Johnny Middlebrooks and kissed the people they fancied.
Megan kissed Callum and Steph and then let the girls that they were with, Liberty and Jess respectively, know that she had chosen their partners. Johnny then kissed Imani and then Cely. Fans were shocked by Johnny’s choice as he has a history with Cely and they both came in second together during the second season of Love Island USA.
They had a rocky breakup and the pair have not spoken since. Some fans loved the new twists and took to social media to share their views.

The women are ready to NOT tolerate male stupidity to the love island degree this time around, and I’m so ready. And also, everyone is clearly going for the money and self promo, so again, carnage incoming. ”
