ITV is reported to be keeping presenter Phillip Schofield on for one of its primetime shows, despite him stepping down from This Morning.
The presenter, who had been at the helm of This Morning for 21 years, stepped down from This Morning on Saturday after weeks of rumours about his “feud” with co-star Holly Willoughby reached its peak.
The star announced he was stepping down from This Morning with “immediate effect” and it’s reported that ITV will still be keeping him on as presenter for one of their primetime shows.

Phillip will continue to presenter either Dancing on Ice, The Cube or 5 Gold Rings now that he’s no longer presenting This Morning.
Whilst The Cube and 5 Gold Rings aren’t currently on air, it’s reported that Phillip is still keen to host Dancing On Ice when it returns for its next season but he won’t be hosting alongside Holly.
No decision has been made from ITV on who will front the ice skating show, but it’s likely it won’t be a Phillip and Holly duo.
If ITV brought back either of the gameshows that Phillip hosted previously, it’s thought that he may front one of these and step down from Dancing On Ice.
ITV bosses are reported to be still considering the longterm commitments with the presenter, as one source said: “They want to take it slowly, one project at a time.”
ITV are also keen to find a replacement for Phillip alongside Holly, who he hosted This Morning with for 13 years.
However ITV are also considering letting Holly have a similar format to Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid, who has hosted the morning show with guest hosts since Piers Morgan left.
One source said: “When Piers Morgan left GMB it was panic stations as everyone set about finding someone to replace such a huge personality. In the event, they needn’t have worried.
“The guest hosts have worked a treat. So, while finding a regular is the ideal solution, it’s also perfectly plausible that Holly can do a Susanna.”
ITV has already revealed that members of the “This Morning family” would be hosting the show over the next few weeks before Holly returns on June 5.
