Ex-This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield reportedly told his “devastated” wife Stephanie Lowe that his ITV lover was “just a friend”. before his relationship was revealed.
The former presenter allegedly also only told his daughter about his relationship with a younger male colleague minutes before the bombshell statement aired to the public.

The outlet also revealed that Phillip’s daughter Molly only found out about her fathers’ relationship minutes before the statement to the Daily Mail in which he admitted “lying” to “friends, family and colleagues”.
Friends told the publication that Molly was at work at YMU, the talent agency that represented her dad when she heard the news.
Molly is then thought to have travelled to Cornwall to be with her dad and was spotted with him in the back of a car on Thursday (1 May.)
Last Friday (26 May) Philip confessed to having an affair with a much younger male colleague on This Morning while he was married.
He said in a statement: “I am making this statement via the Daily Mail to whom I have already apologised personally for misleading, through my lawyer who I also misled, about a story which they wanted to write about me a few days ago.
“The first thing I want to say is: I am deeply sorry for having lied to them, and to many others about a relationship that I had with someone working on This Morning. I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning.
“Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship.
“That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over.”
Philip then explained that he “came out” as gay for his “own wellbeing” and “nobody forced” him to.
“I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public, and most importantly of all to my family.
“I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife.”
He then requested that the media respect the privacy of his family.
Phil and Stephanie maintained a good relationship after he came out as gay on ITV’s This Morning with Stephanie continuing to publicly support her husband.
