Piers Morgan has sensationally exposed texts exchanged in a politician’s group chat that were sent at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
During Thursday’s episode (March 2) of Piers Morgan Uncensored, the broadcaster revealed images of texts sent from the former Health Secretary and Helen Whatley, which showed them celebrating his departure from Good Morning Britain.
The text from the former Social Care Minister said: “How about we celebrate the departure of Piers at/after our team meeting tmr pm? Just a thought.

“Perfect,” responded the I’m A Celeb star.
Piers added: “It would have been wouldn’t it? If they’d had a big party to celebrate me losing my job.”
The former BGT judge continued: “Only one problem. If they did have that party, lockdown restrictions at the time would have meant that that kind of party to celebrate me losing my job would have been strictly prohibited. Illegal.
“And the people that made that rule would have been them.
The TV host welcomed Isabel Oakeshott onto his programme who confessed the politicians were “obsessed by him” and “overjoyed” when he left GMB.
She explained: “They were continually wondering what to say to you to keep you in the place that they wanted you to be.
“They were worrying about the extent to which you were challenging them.”
Isabel told Piers: “You and I differed over what you should’ve been challenging them on. Where we did agree was that they should be held to account and they didn’t like that.”
“And they were absolutely overjoyed when you left your job,” she concluded.
Another guest, Richard Tice, noted the politicians were “laughing about lots of things” during the height of the pandemic.
Isabel confirmed The Telegraph will reveal more texts on Friday (March 3) which will show the “gloating” and “gleefulness” reactions from politicians when people were arrested for breaching lockdown restrictions.
