Meghan Markle was praised by Piers Morgan in an unlikely twist at the TRIC Awards.
The TalkTV host was awarded best interview following his famous chat with Cristiano Ronaldo which saw multiple bombshell claims about Manchester United.
After mocking TV rival Dan Walker as he took home the win, Piers couldn’t help but make a reference to the Duchess of Sussex.

Dan Walker cheekily stormed off the stage after giving Piers his award in a bid to poke fun at his viral Good Morning Britain exit.
But Piers used the moment to praise his new role.
Dan handed Piers the award and poked fun at the TV star as he stormed off-stage in a jibe at the former GMB host storming off set following a row about Meghan.
Piers laughed and said: “He laughs but when I did that walk out, that was the day Good Morning Britain finally beat the BBC in ratings.”
He then thought it was the perfect time to reference Meghan in his speech, as he said: “I want to thank Meghan Markle because, if you think about it, without her contribution to my career I would never have gone to TalkTV.
“I would never have been standing here with this award!”
Piers landed the award after a public vote deemed his interview with Ronaldo the best of the year.
He was up against former GMB co-star Susanna Reid who did a stellar interview with former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Piers and Susanna worked alongside each other for many years before his brutal exit from ITV.

The TV star was under fire after he claimed he didn’t believe Meghan after she and Prince Harry gave an interview to Oprah Winfrey.
As he slammed the Duchess of Sussex on TV, ITV was inundated with over 50,000 Ofcom complaints and Meghan herself contacted ITV for an apology.
Piers refused to apologise for his comments, which resulted in his culling from the morning show in 2021.
Piers has since moved over to TalkTV to host his own prime time TV show titled Piers Morgan: Uncensored which has seen him welcome the likes of Ronaldo, Donald Trump and Caitlyn Jenner on as guests.
