Fans of Rod Stewart were left fuming recently after the singer “stormed off” stage due to his gig being cut short.
The 78-year-old kicked off his run of UK summer shows on Saturday night (June 24), at Home Park stadium in Plymouth where he has previously played two times prior.
However, despite putting on a mesmerising performance, audience members were left stunned when Rod finished his second to last song of the encore at 10.30pm.

The Hot Legs singer performed his last song, We Are Sailing before the stage was then quickly turned to darkness.
But to add to fans’ grievances, many were disappointed due to difficulties with a lack of buses to get home.
One attendee shared their thoughts on the gig to publication Plymouth Live.
The partygoer said: “After attending the Rod Stewart concert yesterday evening he finished his second to last song, the finale being We Are Sailing to be told it was 10.30pm and he couldn’t continue.
“With this Rod stormed off the stage and the concert was left without light, only to be told the Lord Mayor had put a stop to it.
“Hundreds of fans like myself were left in shock and waited for an iconic moment dedicated to the Navy,” they added.
Others took to Twitter and Facebook to share their thoughts.
One social media user said: “A fantastic evening at Home Park seeing the legend that is Sir @rodstewart and @BoyGeorge Shame about the abrupt ending and no encore. @Argyle must have a pretty strict curfew.”
Another penned: “I supposed @rodstewart won’t be having tea with @PlymLordMayor then. Did @plymouthbus not get the memo? Tomorrow’s headlines today.”
While a third added: “@rodstewart and @BoyGeorge gave the crowd a superb concert tonight @homeparkstadium. I got the feeling Rod was told to finish early and wasn’t happy about it but it didn’t spoil a fantastic evening.”
However, not everyone was as understanding of the situation and blasted Rod for “poor time management”.
One attendee fumed: “Rod Stewart would have known the curfew times and he would have known his set time.”
And another said: “He would have chosen the songs he was going to perform and how much time he would have needed between songs to chat to the crowd. Seems to me this is down to poor time management.”
