Hollywood legends Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have been seen on the set of Deadpool 3, with the duo killing a major comic book villain in a fight scene.
Australian actor Hugh, 55, was seen in Wolverine’s classic yellow suit, which is like the one he wears in the comics after joining the X-Men. Meanwhile, Ryan, 47, wore his character’s usual red and black suit.
In new snaps taken on-set, Ryan’s character Deadpool could be seen carrying round the decapitated head of Wolverine’s nemesis Sabretooth. Wolverine cuts off the villain’s head in a gory fight scene.

Sabretooth was first seen in the first X-Men film in 2000, played by Tyler Mane. The Canadian actor reprised his role, for what is likely to be the final time given the outcome, for Deadpool 3.
According to a source close to the set, Sabretooth pointed to Wolverine, his half-brother, and said: “I know you,” before they get into a fight. Wolverine then cut off his head, likely with his extendable claws.
Deadpool then referenced Mad Max and held up the decapitated head, and said: “Behold the head of your queen, Furiosa.” Ryan could be seen carrying round the screaming head of Sabretooth by his long hair.
This scene will perhaps mirror the Marvel comic book world, as Wolverine also kills Sabretooth. There, though, Sabretooth tells Wolverine to “do it” before he leaves his headless body in the snow.
The difference for Deadpool 3, is that the scene is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The set was covered with broken boats, rockets and even a buried 20th Century Fox sign.
Deadpool was released in 2016 as a spin-off of the X-Men movies. It followed Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson, who becomes Deadpool after his is injected with a serum which gives him his mutant abilities.
The character (still played by Ryan) was first seen alongside Wolverine in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, though. Deadpool was then followed by the sequel, Deadpool 2, in 2018.
Then, in 2019, Ryan Reynolds confirmed Deadpool 3 was in development at Marvel Studios. The new movie will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after Fox was acquired by Disney.
It is scheduled to be released in the US on July 26, 2024. It will be part of Phase Five of the MCU, alongside already released Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 and The Marvels, and 2025’s Captain America: Brave New World.
