Scott Mills admitted Hannah Waddingham was “perfect” as she took to the stage to present Eurovision on Saturday (May 13).
The radio DJ, 50, appeared on Tuesday’s instalment (May 16) of Lorraine and reflected on his time commentating on the international song contest.
Lorraine, 63, kicked off the chat by saying: “Can I just say, the goddess that is Hannah. Oh my goodness me.”

Scott revealed the Ted Lasso star adopted a motherly role across the week as he told the presenter: “You know what, everyone was calling her mother all week.”
Gushing over what an incredible job she did presenting the show, Scott continued: “She’s hosted the Olivier’s before but not much else. Obviously she’s a fantastic actress but she ruled that all the way through.
“Inevitably at Eurovision you always here some boos, but the way she was like, ‘Not in my house’. I just think she was perfect.”
Lorraine and Scott went on to address the UK finishing in second to last place, with the duo agreeing that Mae Muller deserved a spot higher up the leader board.
Lorraine said: “It was kind of business as usual for the UK. It was second from the bottom but I don’t think we deserved to be second from the bottom.”
“We didn’t deserve it. And also if you look at Mae’s performance and listen to the song, compare that to what we were doing three years ago, it was a different level,” the BBC radio star agreed.
Scott admitted the placing “wasn’t great” but the UK shouldn’t feel “embarrassed” by Mae’s performance and song.
The Eurovision commentator also took the time to thank Merseyside Water Police after they gave him and co-star Rylan Clark a lift home when they were stranded in Liverpool.
The pair headed out for dinner on Friday (May 12) as it was their only night off, but it clashed with the rehearsal for the Eurovision final which meant they couldn’t get a cab home.
He explained: “We then saw some people in Hi Vis, turns out it was the Merseyside Water Police and I just want to say thank you so much to them.
“They didn’t take us by boat even though Rylan did ask. But I want to say thank you to Ian who let us jump in his car and took us back to the hotel. We could’ve been there hours.”
