She added: “It should be announced soon. It’s very exciting – the fans are going to love it.”
Mel said she feels “very fortunate” she got to spread global “spiciness” with her bandmates.
The band formed in 1994 and also featured Sporty Spice Melanie Chisholm, Baby Spice Emma Bunton, Ginger Spice Geri Horner and Posh Spice Victoria Beckham.
They split in 2000 but have reunited for two tours as a five-piece and toured in 2019 without Posh.
Mel is also joining the panel of drag queen singing show Queen Of The Universe.
She said: “As the Spice Girls, we did many drag events and gay bars and clubs.
“The gay community really embraced us. That world is all about being free and comfortable in your skin. So the show is very fitting.”
The last time all five Spice Girls performed together was at the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.
Previously speaking to The Sun, Mel claimed that a reunion was on the cards, although she did not reveal any specific details.
“My theory is that if I say it enough, it will happen,” she said. “But actually, we are planning on releasing a statement.”
She added that Victoria didn’t need “convincing” as the pair were still in contact, adding: “It’s not like none of us are speaking together, we’ve all got a group WhatsApp, but it’s just about timing.
“She was really busy doing her fashion line and supporting David with his moves and his career and obviously she’s got a bunch of kids so it’s just about finding the right time.
“We’ve managed to do that so there should be an announcement pretty soon.”.
Earlier this year, the band had been rumoured to be reuniting for King Charles III’s Coronation concert but failed to appear.
