Strictly elimination spoilers leak as viewers say ‘right person went home’

Strictly Come Dancing fans have reacted after the results of the first elimination have leaked – and it seems they’re all in agreement.

The BBC show suffers from sneaky leaks every year, starting with which couples are put together ahead of the series. And the first elimination result has been revealed too hours ahead of the Sunday results show.

Daily Star will not be spoiling the result. However viewers appear to believe that the “right person went”, meaning the other couples will get to dance on again next week.

Reacting to the spoiler, one person said: “Right choice. Now you can sleep.” Another said: “The right person went unfortunately.”

A third wrote: “Great result, absolutely correct in my opinion.” Another said: “I feel immensely sorry for this celeb’s professional partner but it’s the right decision.”

A fifth sarcastically added: “There’s a shock no one saw coming.” And someone else went on: “Didn’t need a spoiler to know who was going, [redacted] was terrible.”

The Strictly live shows launched last week, however nobody was eliminated. Instead, the judges’ scores were rolled over and added up to this week’s scores, and the results from the public vote.

Actor and West End star Layton Williams and his partner Nikita Kuzmin stormed to the top of the leaderboard with their Quickstep to Puttin’ On The Ritz, with a whopping 36 out of 40. Meanwhile, Les Dennis and his partner Nancy Xu were at the bottom with their Samba to Rock The Boat with just 15.

Les scored just one less than paralympian Jody Cundy, though, and three less than radio presenter Nikita Kanda. At the other end, Layton was ahead by four points, with Amanda Abbington in second place with 32.

The leaderboard has changed since the first week, as EastEnders icon Nigel Harman was ahead with his pro Katya Jones. However Les was at the bottom.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturdays at 6.20pm and Sundays at 7.15pm on BBC One
