Strictly Come Dancing star Angela Rippon has revealed she uses an “alter ego” to help her perform her sexy dance moves.
The 79-year-old, who is the oldest celebrity to do the show, has been wowing judges and viewers with her impressive flexibility as she performs the splits and variety of toher sensual moves. Joining host Fleur East on It Takes Two, Angela was asked about her most recent performance doing the Argentine Tango, prying: “Where did this sultry diva come from?
Angela replied: “I have no idea. Well, it was not Angela Rippon. Angela Rippon was out there somewhere watching it.” She then went on to whisper an made up name, telling fans: “It was Valena!”

She added that it “needed a bit of acting” to bring out the sexy moves infront of millions of viewers. Angela showcased her incredible flexibility as she stretched her leg over head head during her Cha Cha.
The broadcaster looked sensational in silver fringe mini dress as she performed to Shirley Bassey’s cover of Pink’s Get The Party Started before kicking her partner lifted her leg for the dramatic finale. Rippon has said she wanted to push age-related boundaries on the show: “there are things I can do, and things I can’t. I just want to do everything properly. I’ve told him: ‘Challenge me.’”
In an interview with the Radio Times, she said she wished she had been asked on the show 10 years earlier as she is “not as fit or strong” as the younger contestants, though she has kept fit through tennis, pilates and ballet. The BBC news reader has credited her success to her partner Kai Widdrington for allowing her to see that anything is possible despite her age as she gushed he is a ‘dream to work with’.
Complimenting the professional dance partner, she admitted her girlfriends are jealous she is dancing with Kai as she confessed “as a human being he ticks all the boxes.” Angela revealed Kai has enabled her to not see her age as a barrier to what she can do.
“What he’s done is made me realise that there are things I can do that I assumed, at 78 and 79, I wouldn’t be able to do.”
