Speaking to Bradley, as she was faced with three options ahead of her encounter with The Chaser, Paul Sinha, she explained that her husband would “divorce” her if she took the lower offer.
But fans of the hit ITV programme were far from impressed as Emily continually explained she was in need of new carpets for her home.
Taking to Twitter, they couldn’t hide their frustration, with one writing: “Say carpet again #TheChase,” with a gif saying “Go on!”
“Does Emily need a new carpet? #TheChase,” said a second.
Before a third went on to say: “You’ll get a cracking carpet with £6k and a whack of change Emily #thechase.”
“This episode will be known to the future generations as The Carpet Episode. #TheChase,” commented another.
“Stop mentioning carpets! #TheChase,” fumed another viewer.
Meanwhile, other viewers were quick to comment on Emily’s references to her husband, with some believing she mentioned it too many times, with one writing: “Has Emily got a husband? Not sure if she’s mentioned it #TheChase.”
“Wonder if Emily has a husband #TheChase,” typed another.
However, viewers were left rather baffled over Emily’s final cash builder question: “Who played drums on, and produced, the Adam And hit ‘Puss ‘Boots’?”
The answers for the question were Phil Collins, Keith Moon and Roger Taylor, leaving Bradley rather red-faced after he appeared to get it wrong.
Emily correctly guessed Genesis star, Phil Collins and viewers were quick to speak out after Paul Sinha noted that he’s a fan of 80s music.
“Bradley raging he got it wrong… #thechase,” said one.
Before a second commented: “It was hardly gonna be Keith Moon – unless they held a fucking seance! #TheChase,” acknowledging that the Who star actually died in 1978.
The team, Alisa, Sam and Emily made it through to the final chase with £14,000 between them but were caught with less than 40 seconds left.
