The Chase fans say contestant ‘doesn’t want to be there’ as she tries luck on ITV show

The Chase viewers claimed a contestant on Friday’s instalment (July 28) of the ITV show ‘didn’t want to be there’ as she answered just one question right in the cash-builder round.

Nervy Franky from Lowestoft, Suffolk was third up to be quizzed for a minute by host Bradley Walsh and earned £1,000 to play for.

However, after Chaser Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis offered the 27-year old the chance to add a cool £40,000 to the group’s prize fund, the poetry-loving support worker opted to play it safe – with a paltry £100 at stake.

It was arguably the right decision though, as with a four-step advantage over the Chaser, Franky safely made it ‘home’ with her fund intact to add to fellow contestant Deepak’s five grand.

Earlier, Franky revealed she hoped any potential winnings could be used to fund a trip to a Justin Bieber museum in Ontario, Canada along with her fiancée, Rebecca and their son.

But viewers soon pointed out that her dream was unlikely to become a reality as she struggled with her general knowledge.

One Twitter user wrote: “Crikey she doesn’t look like she wants to be there at all! #TheChase.”

Another commented: “#Thechase £100 for Franky. Oh dear. Bye bye……”

A third added: “Too easy for the chaser today on #thechase.”

And a fourth said: “Poor Franky looks like she’s gonna cry #thechase.”

Feeling sorry for Franky, host Walsh told her that he believed she was a better player than that and put it down to her nerves.

After the evening’s final contestant, Nick, was caught by The Menace, it was down to just Franky and Deepak to compete in the final chase for their combined £5,100.

Managing to answer 11 questions correctly between them, however, they proved no match for The Menace, who defeated them with ease with 68 seconds remaining on the clock.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 5pm
