The Chase star Shaun Wallace makes ITV history as he offers eye-watering prize

The Chase star Shaun Wallace left his co-star’s shocked when he made an eye-watering offer – the highest he’s ever made.

Presenter Bradley Walsh welcomed four celebrities into the ITV studio on Sunday (April 30) who were attempting to win some money for their chosen charities.

Quizzer Shaun, 62, was up against comedian Sarah Millican, dog trainer Graeme Hall, British space scientist Margaret Aderin-Pocock and TV presenter Ortis Deley.

Graeme, better known as The Dogfather, was third to play the chaser and was in a brave mood as he accepted Shaun’s high offer of £90,000.

Sailing through to the final chase, Sarah was next in line and won a comfortable £7,000 in the cash builder round.

Shaun offered the comedian the chance to play for £3,000, to stick with her original total, or go for a whopping £103,000.

“This is the highest offer I’ve ever made on the Celebrity Chase,” the quizzer told his co-star’s, leaving them completely stunned.

Despite the eye-watering sum, the 47-year-old decided to take the low offer with the aim of getting back to the team for the final chase.

With a huge £100,000 up for grabs, there was all to play for in the final chase.

But during the final round, fans weren’t happy with Sarah as she passed on several questions and took to social media to voice their frustrations.

One viewer fumed: “#TheChase Fsk Sarah, stop passing and guess!!”

“Stop bloody passing Sarah!!,” added a second person as another user penned: “Millican the queen of pass #thechase.”

Echoing these thoughts, another chimed in: “Stop passing Sarah..the others know those answers!”

“Has Sarah Millican never heard of guessing? #TheChase,” questioned a fifth fan.

While another shared: “I think Sarah Millican is passing far too quickly. Not even attempting an answer is silly. Her fellow team members might have been able to answer if they’d had a chance!! #TheChase.”

Unfortunately for the celebs, their score of 17 wasn’t anywhere near enough as Shaun managed to catch them with 31 seconds remaining on the clock.
